Nicki Behm Photography » your life remembered

You clicked on my little picture in the sidebar, didn’t you? Well, I guess that means you’re a tiny bit curious about me. Since you asked, here are a few random facts about me, in no particular order, as told through some of my Instagram photos.

It’s important to note that this page is fairly representative of what my instagram looks like. Sometimes I wish I had a beautifully curated account, but then I couldn’t post all the fun things I want and it wouldn’t really be me. So, if you click on any of these photos it will take you to my personal Instagram where you can send me a request to follow — come play with me over there!

That’s how I met my husband. Sometimes we speak Hebrew so our kids don’t know what we’re saying. It comes in handy. Fun fact about this picture — When the prints came in, my drill instructor yelled at me for wearing lip gloss in my basic training photo: “Pretty is not in regs! What do you think this is, PROM? Hand over the lipgloss Hughbanks!”

I was hoping the Air Force would show me the world. I ended up staying stateside the entire time, living in Monterey, CA and Augusta, GA. Great places if you’re a golf fan. Not so exciting if you want to see the world. Luckily my Uncle is a member of the PGA, so I got to hang out with him at the Masters a few times. Here we are in 2001, being photographed in front of the clubhouse with what must have been one of the first digital cameras ever.

After separating from the Air Force, I spent 8 years as a systems engineer working on mission systems of military aircraft. Yep. You read that right. Here I am on a business trip with all my work buddies in England. I’m still friends with several of these guys. Engineers are good people.

Now when I travel for work, it’s often with Kristen Kalp and other creative entrepreneurs. We know how to unwind after a long day of filling up marketing calendars and copy writing.Divider Arrow

courthouse jillSpeaking of the courthouse, it’s such a gorgeous place to sit. I love my hometown.

This little cafe in Paris knows what’s up. They serve coffee in a bowl, specifically un bol de café au lait. That’s what I ordered every morning last time I was in Paris. It’s kind of creepy how lovingly I’m looking at my bol de café. It’s also embarrassing how many photos of coffee I have on my Instagram.

travel smIf I go more than six months without getting on a plane I get panicky and sad. Travel keeps me sane and in good working condition.

costumes smEven though I turned down a theatre scholarship, I still found my way back to the stage. All three of my kids are active in McKinney Youth Theatre and I serve on the board as the Marketing Art Director. All that really means is we play dress up a lot in this house and I get to take so many fun photos of my kids in costume.

A special thanks to Meg and Jillian for letting me use their Denton Courthouse photos. Clearly I need to visit more often!
