Hey there! How about a little something new for you all? I’m so excited to share my new venture with you, I could burst! This is something I’ve wanted to do for such a long time and I’m incredibly happy that I finally found the time to share. Around This Town is my new monthly spotlight for local businesses. Each month I will feature a new small business that I love – and you all are in for a special treat this month.
A few weeks ago I sat down with Sharla Bush, owner and creator of Sharla’s Cosmetics and Bath on The Square in McKinney. I chose Sharla to be featured first because I admire her immensely as a business owner and I simply adore her store. Sharla opened her doors to downtown McKinney patrons in 2004 with a vision to provide luxurious cosmetics locally with a focus on reminding us that femininity should be celebrated. Once you walk through the doors of her store you’ll understand. The décor is drop-dead gorgeous – dripping with fanciful femininity. You are proud to be a woman in her store. If the ambiance of her store isn’t enough, Sharla has this uncanny ability to remember each of her customers and make each of us feel special. I still remember the first time I walked through those doors – and so does she (yes, she’s that amazing). In 2004 I was starved for some girly time as a brand new first-time mom. I walked out with some perfume, bath salts, a warm fuzzy feeling, and a new friend.
The Goods: Sharla has the most INCREDIBLE perfumes in the world in her store. I can’t overstate that; they really are divine. She has also developed her own line of skin care that is unmatched in quality – just look at her gorgeous skin below. If that’s not testimony enough, I don’t know what is. She is a curator of fun accessories, from gorgeous Italian jewelry to hats and fascinators. Everything is more fun with a fancy hat! I could gush about all the wonderful products Sharla has in her store, but how about I just show you some pictures of my favorites.
